Most people have never heard that light can be used inside the body — but it can, and it’s one of the most fascinating regenerative tools we offer at Venturis Clinic. Intravenous laser therapy (also called laser blood irradiation) delivers gentle, low-level laser light directly into the bloodstream to support the immune system, circulation, and cellular energy from the inside out.
What is intravenous laser therapy?
Using a specialized system (we use the Weberneedle® Endolaser), a thin fiber delivers low-level laser light into a vein, so the light interacts directly with your blood cells. This is a form of photobiomodulation — using specific wavelengths of light to influence how cells behave. It is low-level (not a cutting or heating laser); the goal is to stimulate, not damage.
How light affects your cells
Your cells contain mitochondria — the tiny engines that produce energy (ATP). Certain wavelengths of light are absorbed by the mitochondria and appear to help them work more efficiently. In the bloodstream, low-level laser light has been studied for its effects on circulation, oxygen delivery, inflammation, and immune balance. More than 5,000 studies have explored photobiomodulation across in-vitro, animal, and human models.
Why patients ask about it
We see interest from patients dealing with:
- Persistent fatigue and low energy, including Long COVID and post-viral syndromes
- Chronic inflammation and autoimmune conditions
- Chronic pain, neuropathy, and slow recovery
- A desire to support immune function and overall resilience
The colors of light
Different laser wavelengths — red, blue, green, yellow, and infrared — are thought to have different effects in the body. We tailor the approach to the individual. (We break this down in our companion article on what each color of laser light does.)
How it fits into a bigger plan
Intravenous laser therapy is rarely a stand-alone fix. At Venturis, it’s one tool alongside ozone and IV therapies and functional medicine, chosen based on your evaluation and goals.
