Cancer treatment is hard on the body. Appetite changes, weight loss, fatigue, digestive problems, and nutrient depletion are common, and they affect how well people tolerate the treatment their oncology team has prescribed.
This is a supportive care service for people receiving or recovering from cancer treatment, serving patients across Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The work is nutritional and metabolic: functional lab assessment, targeted nutritional support, IV nutrient therapy where appropriate, and digestive and recovery support — all coordinated with the team managing your cancer care.
This is not cancer treatment, and it is not an alternative to it. Your oncologist directs your cancer care. This service sits alongside that, addressing nutritional status and treatment tolerance.
Who this is for
- Patients currently in active treatment who want nutritional and supportive care coordinated with their oncology team
- Patients who have finished treatment and are working through lingering fatigue, digestive issues, neuropathy, or deconditioning
- Patients already taking supplements who want a knowledgeable review of whether those choices are safe alongside their treatment
What we need from you, and why
We need a diagnosis and treatment plan from an oncologist, and permission to share our written summary with your oncology team.
This is not a formality and it is not us deferring to anyone. It is the only way this service works. Reviewing your supplements for interactions means knowing which drugs you are on, at what doses, on what schedule. Without that, we cannot tell you whether something is safe — and telling you it is safe when we don’t know would be worse than not seeing you at all.
If your oncologist frustrates you, you are far from alone. Appointments run short. Questions about nutrition and supplements often get waved off. Feeling unheard is one of the most common things we hear, and it is a legitimate complaint rather than a character flaw.
It is also a reason to get a second opinion, not a reason to go without oncology care. Second opinions are your right, most cancer centers will help arrange one, and many insurers cover them. If you are between oncologists or actively looking for a better fit, bring us what you have and we can work with that.
If you have finished treatment and been discharged to surveillance, that counts. Bring your treatment summary.
If you have decided against conventional cancer treatment entirely, we are not the right fit. We would rather tell you that on a free 15-minute call than after you have paid for anything.
Why coordination matters more than most people realize
Supplements are not automatically safe during cancer treatment.
Several commonly used supplements have documented or theoretical interactions with chemotherapy and radiation. Several herbal products affect the liver enzymes that metabolize chemotherapy drugs, which can change drug levels in either direction. St. John’s wort is the best-documented example, but it is not the only one. The antioxidant question remains an area of active scientific debate rather than a settled prohibition.
Many patients are taking a cabinet full of products their oncologist has never seen. A significant part of the value of this consultation is simply making that list visible, reviewing it against your treatment protocol, and making sure your oncology team knows what you are taking.
For the detail on what the research shows, see Supplements During Chemotherapy: What the Evidence Actually Says.
What a consultation covers
- Review of your current nutritional status, weight trajectory, and symptom burden
- Review of every supplement and product you are currently taking
- Functional lab testing where it would change the plan, not by default
- A written summary you can hand to your oncology team
- A supportive care plan within our scope, adjusted as your treatment changes
What we do not do
Stated plainly, because the boundaries matter:
- We do not diagnose cancer, stage cancer, or treat cancer
- We do not advise you on whether to accept, delay, decline, or discontinue any oncology treatment
- We do not offer any therapy as a replacement for conventional cancer treatment
- We do not evaluate or recommend treatment centers, domestic or overseas
- We do not interpret your oncology imaging, pathology, or tumor markers
Questions in those categories go to your oncologist. If you ask us, that is what we will tell you.
Serving Oklahoma City and Tulsa
Our clinic is in Oklahoma City, and we see patients traveling from Tulsa and across the state. Because supportive care visits are episodic rather than daily, most patients coordinate appointments around their existing treatment schedule.
Start with a conversation
A free 15-minute discovery call is the place to begin. It costs nothing, and its purpose is to determine whether this service fits your situation — including telling you if it doesn’t.
Bring: your diagnosis and current treatment plan, a list of everything you are taking, and your oncology team’s contact information.
